White Schoolhouse played host to an onslaught of noise and roughhousing thanks to Bummer’s album release show for Holy Terror. Fans threw down and cut through the Kansas humidity like a knife with their various appendages as they thrashed around the basement of the North Lawrence all-ages venue. Celebration, out of Missouri, proved to be a well-matched addition to the lineup thanks to their disorderly demeanor and songs that only increased with intensity with every passing minute. Lawrence’s Chess Club opened up the night with their aggressive and nostalgia-inducing emo hits from their latest album, Hit the Ball. Fun fact: Bummer opened up for Chess Club at their album release show at the beginning of the Summer.
