I Heart Local Music is a place for music lovers in Lawrence to gather. It was started out of a deep love and appreciation for the local music scene.

Fally Afani is an award-winning journalist with a career spanning more than 15 years in media. She has worked extensively in radio, television, newspapers, magazines, and more.
Fally’s work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, and television stations across Kansas. She received several Kansas Association of Broadcasters awards as well as an Edward R. Murrow award for her online work in journalism. Her love of live music prompted her to focus her energy on working with local musicians and connecting them with the community. On any given night, you can find her covering concerts in Lawrence, Kansas City, or music festivals across the nation.

Nathan was born and raised in De Soto, KS. He lived in Lawrence for 4 years, fell in love with the music scene, and has been lucky enough to write reviews for I Heart Local Music since November 2012. He currently lives in Seattle, WA.

Leroy has been a phenomenal addition to the I Heart Local Music team, working in both Lawrence and Kansas City to photograph live shows. He also helps cover local bands when they hit the road and perform at SXSW. You can easily spot Leroy at most concerts by his large beard and chill demeanor.
