If you were inside the Replay on Friday night, it may have felt like another era. That’s because three Lawrence performers paid tribute to female performers from the 80’s as part of a fundraiser for Girls Rock Lawrence. Katlyn Conroy, ever the perfectionist in her work, nailed her Kate Bush impression while Heidi Gluck worked the venue into a dancing frenzy with a rocking tribute to The Pretenders. It is now apparent to us that Youngest Children should abandon indie rock and head straight to the experimental genre, because their tribute to Laurie Anderson was so captivating that if you weren’t a fan of experimental music before, you were now.

Girls Rock Camp kicks off June 26 and runs through 30, with a showcase on July 1st. You can find more information on the camp and what it offers teenage girls and trans youth here.
