It may have been her first time headlining a show at the Replay, but Khrystal is no stranger to the venue. The multi-instrumentalist is a longtime friend to the Lawrence music scene. Every show is delivered with more surprises. On Saturday, she hopped around on various instruments and wowed the crowd with her ultra-jazzy takes on her R&B favorites. She was joined by the soulful (and so, so saxy) hip-hop quartet Nublvckcity as well as the sultry-voiced Lava Dreams. If you are a fan of jazz takes on basslines, this was the can’t-miss even of the season.
