We absolutely loathe nostalgia, until it’s done properly. This is where The Sluts excel. They’ve taken everything likable about mid-90’s rock and turned it into an homage. This is a skill where they are most appreciated, and you can hear it at the forefront of their latest EP, Break Their Heart.

Guitarist Ryan Wise has mastered enough fuzz and guitar bends to make you wonder how a robust sound comes out of merely a two-piece act. As is their method, there is still plenty of heartbreak in their lyrics. “Break Their Heart,” “Fever,” and “Souvenir” are the songs they’ve been debuting at their recent shows and come out as standout tracks on the EP, though “It’s OK to Fake It” is the one that will keep a bounce in your step.

You can listen to the EP below before seeing them this Thursday at the Truman with FIDLAR.
