We gave you fair warning about this Kansas City band’s sinister and bizarre music, but you braved the Replay over the weekend anyway. The Fog unleashed hell at the venue for their official Lawrence release of Darkness USA.

This band is positively thrilling. They are fidgety, with fast fingers that navigate fuzz to fly through great guitar riffs. This, my friends, is nervous music you can rock out to. The Fog is fast and erratic (yet their drummer is chill as fuck), and they play hella tight without any missteps. There is definitely an admirable consistent rhythm in their madness. Think of it as organized chaos. Even the vocals, however scratchy and obscure they may be, are on point.

The Fog is definitely a band that should return to the area, if you’re looking for a wild ride.
