Saturday night’s show at the Replay was not for the faint of heart. If you’ve been yearning to see rock bands get a little innovative with their sound, this was it. Aquarian Blood, of Memphis, headlined the evening with an approach to psych-rock Lawrence isn’t really used to, while newish band Surfield (featuring one of the best guitarists in Kansas City, Hannah Norris) brought a new wave vibe to the stage. Discotek Mama opened the night touting their new release and a vibrant rock set full of life that the Lawrence scene had been lacking in recent years. Photos below.
