Crunching guitars smothered in fuzz kick off Worried, the new album from Ingrid Ingram. “Heavy Boots” slams into you with battering drums and swerving time changes. That barely prepares you for the wild ride of “Just Joking,” testing the limits with a staccato lyrical delivery, riding octaves with the accelerator floored and a seasick keyboard that whirring all the way around.

Experimental and raucous; every track seemingly brings forth a new noise or instrument to give its own varied distinction. Worried defies you to lump it into one category; surf rock gives way to jazzy undertones to folky freakout. An invigorating and exhilarating rush.
