Various Blonde is one of those bands that doesn’t get enough credit. But the band makes such a fantastic first impression, they’re hard to ignore.

This psychedelic-infused band is groovy as fuck. With vicious guitar riffs and accelerating choruses, the band eases into their set list until the whole place gets moving. Various Blonde produces the type of music that gets your booty wiggling, wether you want it to or not.

The band boasts one of the best guitarists in this part of the state, and is completely unpredictable with their rhythms. There’s a good chance you’ll eagerly anticipate their next move. On top of all this is a reverb-rich layer of soulful falsetto vocals that really even things out, like a rich layer of icing on top of a cake that’s full of wild ingredients.

Here’s a song from their tour kickoff at the Replay on Wednesday night. This clip is a good example of the band’s fantastic ability to keep you grooving with a steady and funky baseline one moment, then disheveling you with a wild guitar solo the next. Since this is a Kansas City-based band with a just-released vinyl, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see them in action (which we highly recommend).
