On Saturday we were introduced to a captivating performance from a new experimental musician in the scene. Monster is a one-man act that comes to us from Will Weinstein. The one-man band uses a host of non-traditional methods to layer heavily distorted loops and vocals lush with reverb for a unique and one-of-a-kind show.

This guy does everything right. Weinstein is a jack of all trades with a beautiful voice and the talent to use just about every instrument you’d need for a band. He weaves heavy beats, thick bass, rich synths, and a frantic guitar riff here and there for this intricate experience. He’ll call on every noise within reach to give you the best song possible.

Monster has been out and about for about six months, but we can expect to see more Lawrence shows from this Kansas City performer soon.

A highlight of the night came when he covered Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose,” which jolted the audience into excitement and was met with applause, whoops, and hollers.
