We ran into a pretty rad folk-punk outfit at the early Replay show on Friday.

Gunsafe is fierce and entirely likable. The four-piece features plenty of pickin’ topped by an alluringly booming voice from the frontwoman. They kind of struck us as the folky version of Sleater-Kinney. You can’t limit this band to one genre, because they cover a lot of bases. They’re just as much country as they are punk rock… and for every sweet moment you encounter with their onstage demeanor, you also find just the right amount of attitude. Even when they had to ditch the stage setup and go acoustic, these gals (and guy) were barrels of fun.

Here’s a thrilling clip full of playful tempos. If you like what you see, you can catch them at Westport Saloon Sunday night in KC.
