The folks over at Middle of the Map Fest have just revealed more of the lineup, and we couldn’t be more pleased. There are lots of local favorites, and more underground indie acts on the way.
Get pumped, folks. Mates of State are playing the festival. The husband-and-wife indie pop duo used to call Lawrence home before heading out West, but now you can relive the glory days of seeing them play in your hometown during the first weekend of April at Middle of the Map Fest. We think Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel are just dandy, and eagerly anticipate their performance.
In addition to Mates of State, here’s a look at the newest additions to the festival:
The Appleseed Cast
Jaenki
Steddy P
Farout
JBomb
Dallas
The Phantom*
Stik Figa
Greg Enemy
Deep Thinkers
By the way, you can always click here for information on that first round of lineup announcements.
I don’t know if you noticed, but there’s going to be a fantastic local hip hop presence. We’re extremely fond of Stik Figa and Greg Enemy; and by booking those two, Middle of the Map has ensured everyone a healthy dose of regional hip hop from Topeka to Kansas City.
Also, check out this incredible track from local act thePhantom* (rap AND electronic!). If this doesn’t get you excited, you’re probably dead:
The Sun by thePhantom*
Seems like we’re going to be strapping on our dancing shoes.
