Rejoice, comrades! Our favorite cantankerous punks have just released a new track (their first in five years!) that’s a must-listen for your week.

“Shut It Down” has the one thing every decent punk song needs: a chorus that you can chant along with the band while punching your fist into the air on the beat. “Shut! It! Down!” It’s simply marvelous! It’s one of those tracks you hear for the first time and instantly can’t wait to experience it in person.

Frontman and towering beanstalk L. Ron Drunkard’s unmistakably irritable and growly vocals lead the charge on this track, the debut single from the band’s upcoming third album, Exit Strategy. The song features a call-to-action for the oppressed, marginalized working class (y’know… regular Red Kate stuff). The track was written by former guitarist Desmond Poirier after attending a Stand Up KC march, so you can understand the vibe. No joke, it feels like this track actually gets faster as the song goes on.

You can listen to it below before going to bother them on their Facebook page for another Lawrence show (<i>they were just here!!</i>).
