Tennis makes pop music for gentle people. The crowd was shy yet mighty on Wednesday night as they piled into Liberty Hall for Tennis’ stop on their tour in support of their latest album, Pollen.

The married duo make dream pop about as dreamy as you can get it. Generating a lush sound with a simple guitar/bass/drums/keys setup, they treated the audience to tracks from the latest album that combined a modern sound with retro (if you consider the 90’s and 70’s retro) vibe. Sporting rich stage lights and a backdrop with a visual aesthetic just as dreamy as the music, it’s easy to see how the crowd was in happy daze.

They were joined by Kate Bollinger, who was somehow even more delicate than Tennis (music for even gentler people?). If you like stress-free indie folk, give Bollinger Pictures of You a try.
