Marty Hillard, the man behind experimental hip-hop outfit Ebony Tusks, is always eying an opportunity to help his community. This year, he’ll be using his birthday as a way to help raise funds for Give It Get It Inc and Clare’s Community Closet.

Hillard’s no stranger to using his birthday as a platform to support local organizations and has done so many times in the past. His extensive work in non-profits also means he’s got his ear to the ground on community needs. “I always look forward to using my birthday as a platform for local organizations doing important work,” says Hillard. “There are more people in crisis in the communities we live in and serve. In contrast, the premium for basic goods and services has never been higher. Clare’s Community Closet and Give It, Get It INC help fill significant gaps that their clients and families are experiencing at increasing rates, and I’m so proud that we can help these causes in any way.”

The concert kicks off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25th at The Bottleneck. Ebony Tusks will be joined by American Terrorist, HXXS, Young Mvchetes, and Midwestern for the benefit. This is an all ages event, and entry is $10 at the door. You can learn more about the event, as well as the organizations involved, over on their Facebook event page.
