Shoebox Money continues to impress with their recent release of four demos. Now with Hannah Norris as front person, their tunes pack even more of a punch with her strong, driven vocals. Known for their alternative take on blues, Shoebox Money offers a fresh perspective on an underrepresented genre in college-aged folks. Winners of KJHK’s 2018 Farmers’ Ball (battle of the bands), Shoebox Money knows how to draw in a crowd.

The first track, “What She’s Got,” starts this collection of songs with a simple guitar melody that swells into something much more intricate. The lyrical content remains one of the strongest aspects of Shoebox Money’s music. Hannah Norris’s voice and lyrics on “Westport” is introspective and charming, making it a standout track on the release.

Editor’s note: You can catch Shoebox Money at the Bottleneck on May 9th with Jean Claude & the Eclairs, The Cavves, and The Arsonists.
