Lawrence used to have this really cool indie post-rock sound in the local scene, but nobody really does that anymore. Luckily, Heartscape Landbreak brought it back for a taste on Friday evening. The former local act hit up Love Garden for an in-store performance, treating the audience to a rich, full sound and rhythms that took unexpected twists and turns.

They were joined by the noisy boys in Tire Fire, who have so much guitar, you guys. It sounds like they’re writing newer songs and keeping that type of garage rock you can bounce along to all night long. These guys have mad focus, we noticed, as the record store’s dog comically kept weaving in and out of their gear and performance space during the first couple of songs.
