This year’s Middle of the Map Fest started off with a strong showing of local bands and a bigger sprawl over Kansas City. While The Madrid hosted the likes of Lewis Del Mar, the Crossroads sported Chris Meck and the Guilty Birds while Westport kept a variety of local acts busy at Mills Record Company, the Riot Room, and Californos. The Westport Saloon traded in their regular bluegrass for punk rock, where several bands sang about punching Nazis.
