Days like today, after a tense and depressing election, it’s hard not to dwell. Luckily, Nicholas St. James has released a new song to share our sentiment.

As the King of dark and melancholy music, he has really put that heavyhearted and heartsick mood to the test with “A.M. Drives.” With little more than a bass and hauntingly distant pump accordion accompanying his gruff and grim vocals, the songwriter despairs with us while he howls “Holding on to your dreams that just don’t exist anymore.”

We can all listen to this together while awaiting the apocalypse.
