A cold-to-the-touch element shocks the system when you first play Tree Machines self-titled EP. It’s easy to feel that way when the opener is titled “Fucking Off Today,” a heavy-hitting anthem that knocks the wind out of you. The band wants you close, if only to push you away (“How we’ve let it go” the vocals swoon on “Late Snow”).

Raw, honest, brutally beautiful; Tree Machines will surprise you (the daring screech on “Misunderstood” & “The Fire”) and comfort you (“Black and Blue”), but always impress you.

Fantastic production to match fantastic talent. This record is incredible and in under thirty minutes, Tree Machines will have you following them into oblivion. That’s how powerful they are.
