There’s a booming voice in Lawrence, and it belongs to Spencer Brown.

The “folk mastermind” graced the Jackpot stage over the weekend, along with an ever-growing posse of musicians. It’s hard not to be drawn to someone so jovial (despite the melancholiness of his lyrics), and sometimes it feels as though Spencer was born to play acoustic guitar.

He’s got an increasing number of shows on the concert calendar this Fall, so chances are you’ll be hearing a lot more from the songster. We estimate he’ll have audiences singing along with him by the Spring.
