After you’ve finished putting the little ones to bed this Christmas Eve, please turn your attention to the Ovaries-eez.

The group comes to us from the Whatever Forever family, and boasts an all-female lineup and heavenly harmonizing thanks to the vocal stylings of Amber Hansen, Johni Lacore, and Monica George. We’ve seen them at a few shows recently and noticed that they all tend to take a turn on the electric guitar. With each new turn comes a new flair and style for the song. We absolutely adore the female power trio, and think this is the type of music you’d find playing inside the feminist bookstore on Portlandia.

Here’s a track to celebrate the winter solstice. It’s called “Hymn Of Our Minds,” and you can expect it to be a part of an EP they’ll be releasing in early 2014.
