There’s just something so jovial about The Regrets.

When they played to an impressive matinee Sunday turnout at the Replay, it hardly felt like we were watching a band. Rather, it felt like we were watching friends jam out together in their living room, cracking jokes and throwing friendly jabs at each other.

With The Regrets, not only do you get the solid songwriting and rock performances that comes from the heavily experienced trio of musicians (Danny Pound, Daniel Benson, and Brad Allen), but you also get just the right amount of dry humor and humility. For every moment that impressed your musical palette, Pound would quickly swoop in with the wise-cracking rebound. “This is all social commentary I’m spouting out here, from a 23 year-old in 1997.” he’d humbly interject.

Here’s a clip of their Sunday night performance, which drew smiling fans in from Lawrence and Topeka.
