A handful of bands rocked the Schoolhouse Friday night to raise money for Puerto Rico after a destructive hurricane earlier this year. HighWesthus is nothing but a ball of energy, a supernova on the verge of eruption. So it’s extra impressive that with that energy, this was the first of two shows for the Kansas City rapper that night. Life Coach continued their quick rise to local fame and adoration with their easy-to-love riffs, while Cuee delivered a set that had everyone singing and dancing along. Raymond (excuse us, it’s SWEET Raymond) crooned to the point that it made everyone blush, while Pale Tongue (whose Puerto Rican frontman felt a fond connection with the nature of the event) closed out the night with never-ending psych-rock thrills.
