The Lawrence Arts center put on their regular feature Nine Forty LIVE Tuesday night. The show opened with local Y(our) Friend, a one woman act with an indie blues vibe and a voice to kill. Hungry Cloud Darkening took the stage next, a smaller grouping of musicians from headliner Mount Eerie. Their light shoegaze styling was the perfect intro for Mount Eerie’s often moody and driving numbers with hints of folk in the harmonies. These visitors from Anacortes, Washington were more than welcome here.
