If there’s one thing Manor Records does exceedingly well, it’s finding heartbreakingly beautiful songwriters.

It’s no different this time around with Daniel Gum, the 23 year-old Kansas City musician channeling early Sufjan Stevens. “Blue Light” is haunting yet poignant, with a music video to match and full of tense imagery. “All the love you gave tried to run away,” he croons over flashes of light and an unfortunate ending for a bouquet of flowers.

This is the third and latest single off the upcoming album, Thirteen (embedded below). The CD and cassette is set to come out this Friday on Manor Records.
