One of Lawrence’s hip hop powerhouses just released some new music.

Lincoln Marshall, comprised of Approach and MilkDrop, have somehow found time to crank out more music in addition to their solo work. “Mo Spins” details a reflection on working in the music scene, describing the rappers’ diligence and continuing to produce music without knowing how an audience will take to it. “Music is clear now, not all dreams are hopeless,” Approach declares as he psychs himself to “push on” and “work hard.” Even when it feels a bit hopeless, a “50/50 gamble tossing talent in the ocean,” he dredges on before MilkDrop drops in during the middle of the song to throw in his support and back him up.

The nice thing about local hip hop is that the songs are usually something you can connect with. In a town full of musicians, “Mo Spins” is definitely relatable. Listen to the new track below, then catch them at Uptown Arts Bar in Kansas City on Friday, April 22, and at the Replay on May 5.
