Truckstop Honeymoon is a band that seems to constantly be on the move. The beloved bluegrass band spent much of the past year touring overseas, with Lawrence performances peppered in every season– a Spring show at the Replay, a Summer performance at a Downtown street party, and a winter gig at the Bottleneck.

They used their Bottleneck performance as a precursor to another one of their winter events, one they’ve become synonymous with, the Downtown Mardi Gras parade. “Y’all gotta just take a lunch break, meet us at Aimee’s, and symbolically march up to Free State,” Mike West told the crowd before inviting a clarinet player onstage to preview the event set to take place on Tuesday, February 9th. The parade will start at Aimee’s coffee house, at one end of downtown, and see a large barrage of loud musicians spend nearly two hours blaring their horns, chanting choruses, and skipping to their lou down every single block until the reach the other end at Free State Brewery.
