La Guerre began its Southern Projections tour at the Record Bar together with the Melismatics and Shadow Paint. La Guerre, French for the “the war,” is a solo project by Katlyn Conroy of Cowboy Indian Bear. Past Kansas City the tour will consist only of her and her boyfriend in promoting her new EP, “Savannah < Jacksonville," which Katlyn claims accurately represents her excitement about the stops on her tour. The Melismatics brought an energetic rock show, and Shadow Paint started the evening off. Shadow Paint shared La Guerre's drummer, Chris Brower, and put on an impressive performance that made it hard to believe it was only their third time playing together.
