A few days ago my buddy was telling about an upcoming show. I said “Well that sounds fun, where’s it going to be?” He told me it would be “at the Church of Malt Liquor.”

I figured that was the name of a home that played host to shows and house parties, but my friend with responded with “It’s some ditch that’s near the railroad tracks near a bridge where homeless people hang out.”

I brushed his comment off as a joke, but a few days later I found myself staring wide-eyed at the computer screen, because I could not believe what I was seeing.

This:

The Church of Malt Liquor is real. Apparently bands come out and string extension cords (from who knows where) down into some drainage ditch (which appears to be full of garbage) and rock the fuck out.

That is hardcore. I will not question any band that ever has the balls to play in the Church of Malt Liquor.

The video comes from YouTube user “boredintellect,” and he’s got quite a few clips of that particular show loaded up. So have at it.

Oh, and I still don’t know exactly where this is at. So if you hear a loud ruckus coming from a ditch….it’s probably the Church of Malt Liquor.
