Well, it was so much fun last year, everyone thought why not do it again.

The Pedal Steel Festival returned for a second year at the Granada, featuring nine pedal steel guitar players, backed by a house band. The musicians played in the round until the grand finale, where they all played together for a handful of songs. This event has sort of grown as a love letter to The Sunday Roundup, a weekly Sunday afternoon event that features honky-tonk and country at Lucia. Since you can’t really fit nine pedal steel guitars on the Lucia stage, the special event hopped over next door to the Granada. Altogether, Billy Ebeling (the mastermind behind the special festival), Russ Wever, Lynn Piller, Mike Poholsky, Jeff Jackson, Sam Shoemaker, Mike Stover, Colm Chomicky, and Martin Farrell Jr. (along with wife Jenna Rae on guitar and vocals) performed with house band Keith Mallory, John Sage, and Carl Butler. Justin Detel also joined on guitar. The festival has already grow fairly popular, and it’s not uncommon to see a few folks two-stepping the afternoon away.
