The Jackpot is under new ownership, and the downtown venue is sporting a new look.

Most noticeable is all the black. The venue got a fresh coat of paint, inside and out. Gone is the iconic red wallpaper from the stage area, and even the checkered floor is no longer (it’s painted blue).

The framed show posters are off the walls, and in their place are portraits of famous musicians like Freddie Mercury and posters for bands like Wilco. The new owner brought in a striking upright piano and planted it near the entrance, replaced all the wiring while installing modern light fixtures, and shaved two feet off the stage to allow for more seating (it’s hardly noticeable considering the stage was already so large).

The bathrooms are more or less the same, keeping the memorable show posters of yesteryear as wallpaper while the flooring and mirrors got an update.

You can see the new venue and meet the new owner yourself when you pop in to see the Phantastics play there Thursday night.
