A new concept album from Belle & the Vertigo Waves is finally bringing older songs to the light. Annie is out now with vinyl printed by Third Man Records. Belle, the band’s lead singer, first wrote the songs on Annie when she was 18. Now a decade later, the band has transformed the album and brought new meaning and weight to the stories.

If you’re a fan of their EP (Re)Aligned, Annie will give you more of that gritty, intense energy while expanding on the fragmenting story of Annie. The themes of grief, anger, dissociation, and acceptance of who you are come through in the lyrics and guttural instrumentation. Standout songs such as “Hide Me,” “Don’t Come Back,” and “Annie,” build upon the tracks in Re(Aligned).

Belle says Annie “doesn’t present healing as a clean or linear process. Instead, it explores what it means to revisit the person you were, confront the pain that shaped you, and recognize how far you’ve come.”
