We get it, things are tense in the world. Everyone needs a break from time to time. If you’re going to set aside some time to sit back and relax, might we suggest throwing on the new Eggs on Mars single?
This is one of the most stress-free listening experiences we’ve enjoyed for quite some time. The guitars are groovy, the drums are soft, and then tension is GONE from my neck. The title track from their new album Good Morning, I Love You is exactly how I’d like to be greeted every morning, thank you very much. The song feels like the sun cutting through the curtains and waking you up with a warm kiss. Coffee’s already on the burner.
The Kansas City band says their album is a collection of love songs where they turned their melancholia into soft melodic pop songs. We’ll call it a Midwesterner’s hello. Actually, it’s more like a Midwesterner’s pat on the back that says “You’re doing alright, friend.” The entire album is just pleasant, and we could really use some pleasantries about now.
“Couldn’t Write” is a close contender for our favorite track, but the single really takes the lead on this one. You can listen to the band below, and keep an eye out for a show announcement at White Schoolhouse in the future.
