It was yet another night of goodbyes in the Lawrence music scene on Friday when Tangent Arc played their farewell show at the Jackpot to a sentimental crowd.

Their music, heavy on that emotional indie sound so many strive for, was as rich as ever thanks to a full lineup of musicians. One unique aspect of this band is their xylophone player, who peppers in just a touch of delightful noises throughout their songs. We’re also fond of the strong female vocals in Tangent Arc, which is hard to come by in Lawrence. Those vocals never take a backseat, and tend to soar throughout the venue with pitch perfect tones.

As emotional and bittersweet as their songs are, it’s hard not to feel upbeat thanks to their perky beats and guitar rhythms.
