Downtown Lawrence was the place to be Saturday night if you love hard rock/metal/thrash. The Granada featured FIVE bands the produced a gruesome onslaught of raw f@#%ing power.

It was the night of Mansion’s final show, and they set the mood for the epic lineup to follow. Hands down, the band of the night for me was Kvelertak. The six piece hardcore/black metal group hailing from Norway played one of the most intense sets from start to finish that I have witnessed in a long time. As a metal novice myself, I don’t quite feel qualified to comment on all the bands that played, but I left the Granada ready to start a riot. So that said I’ll leave you with my pictures and an honest testimony (and I know it’s a cop out) – You should have been there. I don’t know what more to tell you. Keep rocking, Lawrence.
