We love how Lawrence and Kansas City can’t get enough of that old-timey country and honky-tonk sound right now. But every scene has a sort of “bad girl,” and Kirstie Lynn seems to be taking the reins.

This is a ROWDY Midwestern (by way of Upstate New York) girl. In her new music video for Blazing Prairie Star, she’s throwing down hard on the prairie. Running around in little more than a bikini and a pair of cowgirl boots, smoking cigarettes, and even laying face-down on the ground. Her carefree demeanor comes through loud and clear as she squeals “I just might make it someday, or I might just fall.” As though either option won’t change how she feels in the moment. She is a the very definition of a carefree spirit, and this is a delightful video to watch.

Kirstie Lynne is performing at Northside Social, along with Kate Whitefield and Gracie Hughes, on Friday, August 21st at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to “BYOT” (bring your own tee) for on-site screen printing ($10) of Kirstie’s logo.
