It’s hard not to fall in love with Jass. Every time we’ve seen the Kansas City artist perform, there’s something new to love. Her vibes, her knack for getting the audience to sing along, her flute! What can’t she do?
Now, she’s released a new single off Manor Records, “Autumn in the City,” that perfectly reflects the charisma she brings to the stage. This is exactly the type of music we want to hear when we head downtown on a chilly autumn morning. If the wind blows us into a cafe, this better be on the stereo.
In true authentic Jass style, her latest single was captured in a live band style, tracked and recorded by bandmate Clarence Coppridge. I know that Kansas City is going through a lot of changes right now, but I genuinely hope this is the kind of music that people associate with the area in the very near future.
