SURCO is a 4-piece jam band from St. Louis, Missouri that is known for their psychedelic improvisational concert experience. The quartet excels in pushing musical boundaries with their multi-genre compositions and captivates audiences with an immersive audiovisual production. Each show, the band creates a unique and memorable musical journey that concert goers won’t soon forget.
Formed in January of 2013 in KCMO. Gekko’s musical influences range from funk and soul to heavy metal, jazz and every thing in between. While Gekko’s first album may allow you to relax, their live show is nothing of the sort. The groovy, hard hitting, make-ya-booty-want-to-move funk that Gekko lays down has quickly made a name for themselves in their hometown of Kansas City, MO. Their live performances are a combination of structured composition and free formed improvisation. Proficient with their instruments, Gekko introduces new concepts and melodies into their improvs with ease. Drifting between planned melodies and face-melting psychedelic improvisation, this band will keep you on your toes. Known for their wild improvisations and classic song mashups; the band’s hometown shows have built a strong following that continues to keep grow with no end in sight.
Gekko has played some of the biggest stages in their hometown and festivals across the midwest. They even found themselves opening for some of their favorite bands including: The Floozies, Wookiefoot, Twiddle, Aqueous, The Werks, Moon Hooch, Afroman and The Main Squeeze just to name a few. After bringing in a horn line of Will Henderson, Colin Ford and Chacko Finn; the band continues to hone in on new sounds and ideas into their already extensive catalog of music. Gekko is more focused and motivated than ever before, and is moving their attention to conquering live music scene – there is no telling how much they’ll accomplish in 2018.
