Venue 1235 continues to be a rising star in the local music game. This time, we got to see them with a pretty packed house when they brought Blacktop Mojo to town on Friday night. The rockers provided a super high-energy show with guitarists and a vocalist who spent much of their time sprinting back and forth across the stage (and an audience matched in enthusiasm). The band was joined by Rise Again, a self-described “tribal rock” band out of Wichita with a vocalist who absolutely destroyed on the mic. Also, when’s the last time you saw a cello that was metal as fuck?
