The final night of Lawrence’s biggest Summer music festival turned out to be a lawless land. It felt like complete anarchy had taken over at venues across downtown as bands turned up for Field Day Fest’s last day. Metawatt and TRS-One rode around on a giant inflatable whale at the Replay, while across the road at the Jackpot, Louiz Rip stormed the streets, mic in hand. Down at the Bottleneck, Wick from Wick and the Tricks was making out with the audience. Then, Stiff Middle Fingers gave a 21-middle-finger salute to politics. From the dynamic and fierce stage presence of Vigil and Thieves to the lawlessness of Stiff Middle Fingers’ blowout (and partially nude) set, fans were treated to a wild ride from start to finish.
