If you wandered around South Park over the weekend, music was flowing out of every corner. That’s where the 36th Annual Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships kicked off, drawing dozens of folk and bluegrass lovers out to the Downtown Park. Folding chairs scattered across the lawn as musicians donning straw hats plucked away in the thick Summer air. At one end of the park was a stage where the competitions were held, while at the other end food trucks and instrument vendors lined the area where another stage held casual performances.
