If you’ve been looking for electronic acts to listen to in Lawrence, Alex Calhoun is a good artist to start with.

The local musician, out of the Vivid Zebra Collective, just released two tracks featuring the talents of indie and hip hop musicians in the area. The gentle and rhythmic beats underneath “Fill Me In” is music to daydream to, with vocal stylings of brother CJ Calhoun (of Bonzo Madrid) and La Guerre. “Fill Me Out” features fellow Topeka-native Stik Figa. If you were looking for the local downtempo track of the summer, there’s a good chance you’ll find it with Alex Calhoun.

It looks like he’s been busy collaborating with more artists, and we expect to see a lot more of his contributions to the local electronic music scene.
