“Smells kind of crusty in here… I love it.” Those words from a Replay regular whispered into my ear on Saturday night couldn’t have been more accurate.

The evening was dedicated to some Kansas City punk acts. If you’ve been following what’s been going on over there, Kansas City punk is killing it right now. Between Vandals and some impressively organized promoters and venues, it’s a great time for the genre in our neighbor city.

But on Saturday night, Lawrence indulged in a full dose of those rockers. Headlining the night were Nature Boys, a local favorite that’s fierce as fuck. They may very well have the fastest drummer in the land, and their guitarists aren’t far behind. They shred like there’s no tomorrow when they plow through their fast and furious numbers. Yet there’s something fairly harmonious amongst all the chaos.
