Last week Skating Polly found themselves in an undisclosed hollowed-out volcano lair in Kansas to work on their next album. We caught up with the Oklahoma duo during their time here, and observed from beyond two foggy panes of glass as the girls screeched, wailed, and harmonized during vocal takes on their final day of recording.

They were joined by an exquisite team of music industry professionals, including Kliph Scurlock, who is producing their next body of work. Sisters Kelli Mayo and Peyton Bighorse are fairly stylish as well, but kicked off their vivid blue footwear to line up their small frames (and booming voices) with the mic. In between takes, they downed vitamins and calories in an effort to ward off sickness and keep their pipes strong.

The afternoon offered unique insight into what it takes to make a record, but the girls made it look effortless and fun. You can see some photos from the afternoon below.
