It seems the Lawrence Public Library’s been on a roll this week with all sorts of good news, and here’s another perk to look forward to.

The library will be hosting a Mates of State concert inside the auditorium this year. The former Lawrence band is set to play there on February 1st, according to their recent tour announcement.

The duo tend to play surprise shows in Lawrence every now and then, such as last year’s pop-up show at Frank’s (pictured). They’ll play the library at 10:00 that night, which means the library will close down for the special event. Word on the street is they’ll be putting that fancy little piano in the auditorium to good use for the show.
