Saturday night’s lineup at The Jackpot was an eclectic one for sure.

With a 7:00 p.m. start time (on the dot,) five bands for the night, and styles ranging from Crabcore to Math Rock it was almost enough to make your head spin.

Although the headliner was a touring band out of Nebraska called Type (A) Alert, the real band to look out for is Better Ideas. For a local band playing their first official show, their musicianship and chemistry rivaled that of the more seasoned bands that performed before them. Also, they brought the crowd, so that didn’t hurt the performance either. If they keep this up, they’ll definitely be a band worth following.
