This weekend, a brand spanking new band solidified their place in the scene with a ragingly stimulating performance at the Replay.

Recently, the anticipation for Cop Knock has been thicker than a milkshake from the Ladybird Diner. Lawrence got word of their debut performance, and showed up heavily aroused and bracing themselves for new music.

On Saturday night, Cop Knock delivered on all the hype. The three-piece, comprised of some veterans who’ve floated around the scene over the years, is the screamy, grungy, shredding punk band we’ve been missing around these parts. Cop Knock is the band you didn’t know you wanted, but now know you can’t live without.

Normally when a band first arrives on the scene, they stumble their way through a few performances before getting a really tight set together. Not Cop Knock. They played so flawlessly, the guitarist’s nail polish barely chipped off. The two dames took turns at the mic, and when one wasn’t on lead vocals they were happily backing up each other.

The audience, spilling with excitement and crammed into the front row, was ticked to see their set end and begged for more. But you’ll have to wait until Sunday at the Taproom to see that happen.

We’d like to see this band perform with Mouthbreathers, The Fog, and (once again) Gnarly Davidson.
