By now, Lawrence has come to know CS Luxem as one of the most versatile performers in the area. We’ve seen him perform solo, with a full band, as a folk act, dabbling in experimental, and even adding guest vocals in with another band.

Luxem was part of the crew that rocked Love Garden on Friday evening for the I Heart Local Music photography opening. He performed a stripped down and very soulful set consisting of covers and originals, heavy on loops and reverb.

At the beginning of his set, an intense downpour fired up outside. Some wandered into the store to dry off and wait out the storm. So naturally, Luxem ended with a cover of the Temptations’ “I Wish It Would Rain.”
