Lauren Langner Larson knows just how to thrill an audience with her guitar. The frontwoman for Ume is a fireball, masked under a whipping blonde mane, leading the band in aggressively animated shows that can take your breath away. On Monday, Ume brings a full dose of that vigor to Kansas City.

Propelled by their fans (who helped them launch their latest album via Kickstarter), Ume is going full speed ahead with their potent performances. They’re currently touring and showing off all their new music and Larson’s sprightly shredding skills. We sat down with her at SXSW to see what Kansas City fans can expect at their Czar Bar show this Monday.
